What the results mean
The contrast ratio goes from 1:1 (no contrast) to 21:1 (black on white). WCAG sets these minimums:
- AA — 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text. This is the usual target for websites and documents.
- AAA — 7:1 for normal text, 4.5:1 for large text. The stricter level.
"Large text" means at least 18pt (24px), or 14pt (about 18.5px) bold.
